Job Description
The Finance Services team provides shared services finance support for the US and Canada. The Accounting Services Manager will be responsible for leading a subset of the Finance Services team and form part of the management team reporting to the Finance Services Director.
Manage teams within the Accounting Services group to ensure accuracy in accordance with GAAP and Firm policies, and compliance with Sarbox controls.
Act as Business Operator by recommending accounting controls and process improvements.
Develop people and create value by managing team performance, productivity, accuracy, customer service, quality control, implementation of controls and process improvements.
Recruit, train, coach and develop personnel.
Ensure balance sheet account deliverables are in accordance with GAAP and Firm policy; ensure compliance with Sarbox controls and provide documentation in support of controls and procedures; promote relationships with other internal and external teams for problem resolution and sharing of ideas
Develop and recommend process improvements for best practices; liaise with Canadian and US Controllership on Firm Policy and GAAP issues.
Provide quarter and fiscal year-end reporting to Controllership and internal and external auditors.
Key Relationship/Customer responsibilities include Global, US and Canadian Controllers, Client Financial Management, Finance Operations, Internal Controls, Internal and External Auditors. In addition the individual will be required to build strong relationships with their peers across sister centers in the Global Shared Services Organization.
Supervises a team of approximately 12 employees supporting Balance Sheet Reconciliations, month end close tasks and Fixed Assets for the US and Canada

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Accounting concentration
5 to 10 years of progressive responsibilities in an auditing and/or large accounting environment with management of 10+employees
CPA
Professional Skill Requirements
Knowledge of GAAP, Sarbox and Internal Controls.
Ability to operate within an Accounting Operations environment while ensure GAAP and internal controls.
Strong knowledge of balance sheet accounts.
Demonstrate strong people skills.
Hiring, development and evaluation of staff
Analytical and problem resolution for customer facing issues
GAAP and internal control issue identification and resolution
Other Requirements:
Minimal Travel Required Overtime approximately 10-15% during key processing deadlines
