The Oceanaire Seafood Room, an exciting and rapidly expanding, fine dining restaurant concept, headquartered here in Minneapolis, has an opportunity available for a:
CORPORATE ACCOUNTING DIRECTOR
Responsibilities will include the following: Overall accurate and timely reporting of consolidated results to our CFO.
Oversee Support Services general ledger, including entries, balances, chart of accounts, reporting, etc. Primary focus is on G&A expense and balance sheet.
SEC filings, including but not limited to, 10Ks, 10Qs and 8Ks. Assists CFO in the drafting of press releases and ensuring that numbers are accurate.
Annual audit of consolidated financial statements and annual audit of 401k and directs work of staff and outside auditors to ensure timely completion within budget.
Review and document existing accounting controls and processes and in conjunction with Operations Controller, recommends and implements new controls and processes to safeguard assets and prepares the company to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Determine and propose appropriate accounting treatment for various transactions and gaining approval from auditors for same.
Evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncements on the company.
Assist with the Strategic planning process.
Work closely with Clarion on the functionality and continued development and enhancement of the financial projection model.
Support the Company’s treasury function.
Support our CFO with overall analysis and trustee responsibilities for the Company’s 401(k) plan.
Involved with preparation and review of the monthly Shareholders’ Letter and the Board Book.
Income tax and personal property tax functions including preparation of work papers for federal, state, and city tax returns for use by outside preparer. Reviews all tax returns, and ensures timely filing thereof.
Assist with the annual Support Services budget process including meeting with executives regarding overall strategy; meeting with department heads, coordination of input sheets, input of data into budgeting system, analyzing budgets and recommending changes, preparing consolidated budgeted income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and executive summaries; and assisting with the communication of the final budget, including departmental reports and summaries for executives, department heads and the board of directors.
Support our CFO in working with property/casualty, employment practices, fiduciary liability and D&O insurance brokers and insurance carriers regarding renewal process, overseeing any insurance audits, and the analysis of insurance benefits.
Support our CFO with investor relations’ function, including providing supporting analysis and maintaining shareholder database.
Support our CFO in analysis of various financing alternatives, including equity and debt, equipment leasing and M&A transactions, as applicable.
Interact closely with other departments.
Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS
Four-year degree in accounting or equivalent, prior public accounting experience, plus prior accounting & finance experience including preparation of financial statements and tax returns, public company reporting, overseeing annual audits, and the development and preparation of management reports.

Must have restaurant industry and/or multi-location retail experience.
CPA required.
Strong supervisory skills.
Ability to efficiently operate and utilize personal computer including advanced spreadsheet software applications and basic word processing and electronic communication software applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong technical accounting ability and strong integrity for numerical accuracy.
Satisfactory credit and criminal history.
