Controllership Development Program
Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: FinanceResponsibilities: The Controllership Development Program (CDP) accelerates the development of experienced accounting & controllership talent through a structured program combining job assignments and interactive training. The program is designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the GE Healthcare business and processes. The CDP consists of 3 six month rotations in different divisions / regions within GE Healthcare business. Following completion of the CDP program, individuals will be placed in key Controllership positions at GE Healthcare based in their home region.Responsibilities will vary from rotation to rotation. Primary responsibilities while on program include:* Provide leadership for monthly/quarterly close, monthly controllership reviews with operations, representation letters, account reconciliations, and GE Corporate requests for data to fulfill external reporting requirements* Drive consistent & effective closing policies and procedures* Research and resolve technical accounting issues* Work closely with finance and operations to assess and manage financial risk* Perform analysis of financial statements to ensure compliance, integrity of account balances/financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes* Participate in annual Sarbanes Oxley 404 certification process and ensure ongoing compliance with requirements. * Assist in acquisition/divesture activity
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting and minimum of five years of experience in public accounting or within a Controllership function (closing, technical account assistance, financial analysis, etc); or High School Diploma/GED and minimum of thirteen years of experience in public accounting or within a Controllership function (closing, technical account assistance, financial analysis, etc) * CPA or equivalent designation; or demonstrated technical accounting expertise as demonstrated by experience with GAAP and FASB. * Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change* Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing* Solid PC skills: strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, & Macros)* You must be legally authorized to work in the United States* You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background* You must be willing to take a drug test* You must be willing to be based at our Wauwatosa, WI (Milwaukee area) facility and to participate in a non-US based rotation.Desired: * Experience auditing in large multi-nationals* Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position; for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving controllership/GE Values* Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows* Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement* Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations* Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with othersGeneral: GE Healthcare provides transformational medical technologies that are shaping a new age of patient care.
