Controller to support AGS, our Global Service business to be located in
our West Kingston, Rhode Island facility supporting the General Manager
of APC Global Services (AGS), working with cross-functional and
cross-organizational teams and reporting to the Director of Finance for
BNG/ESSG. This individual will play a key role as business partner to
the Service General Manager with responsibility for risk management,
revenue recognition, and ROI analysis for service contracts by
developing excellent relationships with the other business units to
drive financial excellence for Service. This person will work with the
Global Finance team to install best practices and to improve processes
within the company’s financial organization and will be responsible for
directing the development and preparation of short-term and long-term
financial plans as well as supporting and monitoring the annual
budgets. This individual will provide financial and economic analysis
to the Service organization and guidance via modeling various business
views to result in sound decisions, effective use of resources,
appropriate trade-offs and accomplishment of expected results. The
Controller will provide forward looking cost projections as input for
management decisions, financial insight on new product releases, and
cost and margin impact on Global Services and Project Management.
He/she will plan and monitor business performance to achieve monthly,
quarterly and annual business unit goals; facilitate the annual
financial planning, and quarterly budget update processes; prepare
frequent updates of projected financial results, and review them with
Executive Team members; provide insightful analyses of medium and
longer term Service forecasts; lead the strategic financial planning
process consistent with corporate-wide guidelines; and integrate newly
developed or acquired businesses into mainstream processes. This key
financial position will be committed to partnering with the business,
working with the CFO to build a "best-in-class" finance organization,
and will be people focused, creating an environment with high standards
where people feel valued and respected.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates
will have a minimum of 8-10 years of successively larger
responsibilities, up through the financial hierarchy of a
"best-in-class" organization including experience gained at a public
accounting firm. Advanced Degree in Accounting or Finance from a
top-tier school. High tech/manufacturing with professional services
experience is required; the main requirement from an industry
perspective is that it be global and complex. Must have service
business experience in tech industry with professional, installation
and maintenance services such as computer repair, or any time and
materials business. The experience will include a strong emphasis on
operational finance. The successful candidate will have a good economic
background and broad financial experience as a result of their
programmed movement through all of the disciplines including financial
planning, analysis, strategy, strategic business unit or plant
controllership, and corporate finance. Candidates will have
participated in economic analysis and due diligence for acquisitions,
feasibility studies for new business strategies, budgeting and capital
markets. Lastly, the position requires strong knowledge of enterprise
accounting systems (preferably Oracle - helpful to have Oracle project
experience - installation experience would be ideal) and how best to
leverage technology to gain efficiency in the accounting/finance
process. This financial professional will be entrepreneurial and
strategic in the way he/she looks at opportunities to improve the way
the business is managed, and avenues for growth. Experience will
include working in a matrixed environment and exposure to a business
undergoing major transition. As a result, he/she will have a
demonstrated strength in negotiating, implementing and managing complex
business strategies to effect change and have an impact on the
profitability of the company. The successful candidate will be
fundamentally curious and creative and be able to think out of the box.
This person will be intuitive in their thought process and able to
partner with other executives in the organization to have significant
input into improving business practices and creating new solutions.
He/she will display original thinking and creativity and meet
challenges with resourcefulness.Other desired attributes are the following: Hands-on, process-improvement focus. A strong intellect, business sense and good judgment with the ability to serve as a senior manager. A very quick study, which requires intellect and curiosity and a high level of energy and commitment.
The ability to build relationships that will be required to get things
done in a complex and geographically dispersed organization. Ability to marshal resources and influence decision-making in a fast-moving operating, high transactional-based organization.
