Controller
Our growing client is seeking financial controllership for manufacturing sites with annual revenue of $100M+. The Controller will partner with the director providing guidance and information required to make key business decisions, work capital monitoring and analysis, program financial forecasting and contract closeout, as well as ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting records in compliance with US GAAP, regulatory/tax requirements, and company accounting policies.
The successful candidate will have earned a Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting. A CPA/CMA or MBA is preferred. SOX experience is also preferred. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Federal/Department of Defense contracts and practices desired, a minimum of 10 years experience directly related to working in a manufacturing environment with 5 years demonstrated supervisory or management experience.
The successful candidate will be self motivated, results-oriented, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong business partnering and team building skills. Cost Manager
Our client is seeking a Cost Manager to oversee the recording and calculation of unit cost for products or services related to a specific job or project estimates. The Cost Manager will also oversee the development of proposal cost estimates in accordance with company policies and government cost accounting standards. The Cost Manager will maintain the cost accounting disclosure statement, produces cost accounting and operating reports and organize cost accounting functions prior to physical inventory. The Cost Manager will also ensure the accuracy of data and adherence of the system to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, the company’s business operating system, government cost accounting standards and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. The Cost Manager will supervise 3 to 5 employees in the department.
A Bachelor's degree, certifications or at least 10 years of years of appropriate industry experience is required. An MBA or CPA is preferred. The successful candidate must possess a demonstrated effectiveness at supervising and/or managing people, as well as a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced change-oriented environment. Experience in MAS500 software and report writing using Crystal Reports is preferred. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public will be required. The successful candidate will have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, be a team player with a diversified employee population. Cost & Pricing Analyst I & II
Our Charleston manufacturing client is seeking a Cost & Pricing Analyst I and a Cost & Pricing Analyst II to join their growing team.
Cost & Pricing Analyst I
The Cost & Pricing Analyst I will prepare and track time, cost and labor estimates for direct manufacturing as well as direct non-manufacturing; research, collect and study data to determine costs and maintain accounting records; record, classify and summarize labor hours in accordance with applicable laws and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies.
The Cost & Pricing Analyst I will compute cost factors used for preparing estimates and have the ability to compare the actuals to estimates and analyze the variances. The Cost & Pricing Analyst I must pay attention to detail and adhere to all government compliances in relationship to this position; must maintain spreadsheets and databases and verify the completeness and accuracy of the information.
A Bachelors degree, preferably in Accounting is required. The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of Access is preferred. The successful candidate will have 2 - 3 years experience in accounting, possess an excellent aptitude for industry specific software and have experience in direct and indirect cost tracking.
Knowledge of Report Writing (Crystal or ReportSmith) is preferred. Experience with MAS 500 would be a plus. The successful candidate must be a self starter and possess strong people skills, including the ability to communicate information and ideas well to others.
Cost & Pricing Analyst II
The Cost & Pricing Analyst II will be responsible for product costing, pricing and estimating. The Cost & Pricing Analyst II will compute project costs, compares actual costs to estimates and analyzes variances. The Cost & Pricing Analyst II will also collect and study data to determine costs, manage the preparation of cost accounting records, review costs and perform cost benefit analysis related to projects and / or programs. The Cost & Pricing Analyst II will record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions. The Cost & Pricing Analyst II will use various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and / or format data and / or reports.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting, be proficient in MS Excel and Access and have prior budget creation and maintenance experience. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ previous financial analysis experience. Experience in MAS500 software and report writing using Crystal Reports is preferred. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of government cost accounting standards, as well as knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley. Government FAR compliance / knowledge is preferred, but not required.

Contracts Manager
Our client is seeking a Contracts Manager to manage all aspects of contract administration and award for all contracts from customer organizations and all major sub-contracts in support of company operations. The Contracts Manager will have responsibility for assisting in the creation of and implementation of the systems and processes associated with the management of contracts in accordance with sound business practices and acceptable Government requirements for defense contracting. The Contracts Manager will supervise and provide leadership for Contract Administration staff members. The Contract Manager also coordinates and manages the pricing and estimating accuracy of contract proposals and is an experienced negotiator of US Government contracts and subcontract including contract terms and conditions.
The person selected for this position will have the experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and ability to perform a variety of complex tasks along with a creative spirit and ability to see the big picture and make adjustments as necessary. This position currently reports to the Director of Contracts.
A Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a Business related field is required. A MBA is desired. The successful candidate will have a minimum 5 years experience managing contracts in a defense-related environment, along with 3 years experience in a management role. Level I or higher certification in Contracting will be considered a plus.
The successful candidate will be conversant in understanding and applying the requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its Defense supplements; Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act, or DAWIA.
The Contracts Manager position specifications require familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the military vehicle field; a strong focus and discipline to a process and process improvement is a must. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate objectives and develop strategies and highly developed interpersonal skills are essential. A Secret Security Clearance is a plus or the willingness to apply for security clearance is a must.
