Controller/Commercial Services

(NYSE-BE) is one of the world's largest Management and Technology Consulting companies dedicated to aligning business and systems to empower Global 2000 companies and government organizations.The BearingPoint Finance & Accounting organization is currently searching for a Controller to lead our Commercial Services business segmentLocation/s: McLean, VA; NY, NY; or Warren NJPerformance Profile: The Finance Controller will lead the financial reporting group in building the necessary financial systems, management reports and best practices to support the Commercial Services (CS) business segment. The final candidate will work with the Managing Director to coordinate and support the various financial management systems and staff.Responsibilities include:

Enhance and expand the financial reporting packages at the various organization levels within the business segment, including applicable trend and metric analysis;

Oversee the business segment’s transactions related to CS’ international operations and coordinate with the corporate staff on consolidations, cost, tax and other inter-org issues;

Provide leadership and guidance to the CS finance and accounting staff on all reporting issues and serve as the main corporate liaison for all SEC and external financial reporting; along with Goodwill and other valuation analysis;

Ensure that CS’ financial practices and procedures comply with both SOX and GAAP requirements, particularly in the area of revenue recognition;

Manage all CS activities related to the various external and internal audits, including interface with our public and internal auditors;

Act as a key advisor in all segment financial matters including; strategic planning; revenue recognition scenarios for managed services deals; support the review of high risk fixed price projects; identify other financial risks; facilitate the resolution of operational issues;

Assist and support other corporate initiatives and special projects.Basic Skill requirements:

B.S. in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred.

10-12 years of applicable financial management experience from a consulting or professional services environment.
10+ years working knowledge of consulting contracts.

10+ years demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying GAAP to both professional services and managed services contracts;

Minimum of 5 years experience working with large, somewhat dispersed teams utilizing strong staff management and mentoring skills;
