Controller / CPA

Davidson’s Inc., is one of the largest and most progressive firearms wholesalers in the United States. We are expanding our business and staff, and seeking a qualified Controller to manage our important financial functions. Located in one of the most beautiful cities in the country, Prescott Arizona, Davidsons maintains a huge inventory for our dealer and agency customers and takes pride in our reputation and innovations such as our popular Gallery of Guns website and the industry’s only lifetime replacement warranty on all of the dealer firearms we sell. As we near the celebration of our 75th anniversary in 2007, Davidsons has been consistently profitable by having a progressive, forward thinking management team and a sales and administrative staff that put the customer’s needs first and foremost.

Employment Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CFO and Vice President, the successful candidate will interface with senior and middle management; participate in planning and major business decisions with responsibility for the entire scope of accounting with a heavy focus on the review and finalization of financial statements, internal bank reporting systems, and direction of staff within accounting, IT and Warehouse operations.

Our Location:
Davidson’s is located in beautiful Northern Arizona in Prescott, amid the largest stand of ponderosa pines in the world. Arizona’s first territorial capital, Prescott is also home of the world’s oldest, continuously running rodeo. Firearms play an important role in the economy of the area. Sturm, Ruger’s semi-auto pistol manufacturing plant and titanium casting operation, Yavapai College’s distinguished gunsmithing program, and Gun Site, a world renowned firearms training facility.
REQUIREMENTS
You will need to possess a thorough knowledge of financial reporting, asset based lending, computerized operations including perpetual inventory systems, fixed assets and Excel. Experience in Great Plains or Macola accounting systems would be a plus. You will lead by demonstrating a meticulous, analytical style with attention to detail and zero tolerance for less than perfect accounting practices. You will also possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and a CPA designation. A Masters degree, MA or MBA will be a plus with 5-10 years of progressive financial management in a high volume distribution, manufacturing or other similar field.
