Controller - Assistant

Classification: Consulting Compensation: $48 to $55 per hour Our client, a prominent European Financial Institution based in northern NJ, is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for IFRS - International Financial Reporting Standards.
Responsibilities are as follows: Develop project plan and lead month-end reporting meetings with the Reporting team members; Collaborate efforts with different department personnel, including Risk Management, Product Control, Credit, PDS, Operations, to ensure improved data quality and reporting efficiency; Research and resolve financial reporting queries and issues from Head Office; Review procedural documentation of the financial reporting process; Coach and cross-train team members on monthly financial reporting process; Review and/or prepare monthly IFRS adjustments; Review IFRS issues and determine resolutions preparing summaries to management; Suggest and implement improvements to the reporting process - with team members, between Accounting and Reporting, and other departments; Oversee the preparation of audit packages and provide support to examiners; Review and interpret IFRS guidelines; Oversee the automation of all reporting processes; Maintain policies and procedures as appropriate; Development of various reports/programs in Cognos and other application software; Prepare disclosure schedules, surveys, and management reports as needed.
