Job Summary:Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for supervision of the day-to-day activities of the accounting department, accurate and timely financial statement and report preparation, coordinating cash management, job costing and cost accounting functions. Provides financial analysis and planning, budget control, and profit and loss reporting. Reviews, analyzes and interprets all financial and budget reports. Makes recommendations to management on changes and improvements to systems. Supervises the work of accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely performance of all basic accounting functions.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/businessCPA3-5 years Controller experience in a real estate development companyStrong IT background and software skills including excel and a working knowledge of automated accounting systems including TimberlinePrevious management experience
Essential Functions:Direct, manage and coordinate, as applicable, all accounting functions of Intracorp Northwest (G/L, A/P, A/R, P/R, taxes, fixed assets, budgeting) including all aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual closes.Ensure that the company is complying with tax and regulatory reporting requirements including state and local tax reporting (including 1099s, B&O Tax) in conjunction with the VP of Tax, if applicable.Timely and accurately prepare individual and consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP for Intracorp Northwest as well as its subsidiary companies.Timely and accurately prepare monthly financial management reports, P & L forecasts, and corporate cashflow projections together with an analysis of monthly and YTD variances to the business plan.Coordinate and be involved in cash monitoring and transfer activities.Manage to completion the annual business planning process.Manage the companies’ cash flow and optimize use of idle cash in 100% owned subs.Provide support and work with external accountants to facilitate annual audits for the company and its subsidiaries, as applicable.Ensure corporate governance policies are followed.Document all accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance of GAAP principles through such accounting policies and procedures, checks and audits.Ensure adequate procedures are in place to safeguard the assets of the company.Ensure that appropriate security procedures relative to IT are in place and followed.Perform other duties as required.Company Overview
