Contract Driver Service Representative

The Contract Driver Service Representative is responsible for the recruitment and assessment of all independent contract driver candidates and independent contract driver administrative functions by performing the following duties personally.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibility for administering and maintaining the integrity, accuracy, currency and confidentiality of the independent contract driver/candidate database.
• Prompt and accurate completion of all reports and archiving of files is required.
• Fully support all workplace and motor vehicle operation safety initiatives and related compliance monitoring programs.
• Primary responsibility for the recruitment of new independent contract driver candidates in sufficient quantity to meet company goals and objectives.
• Interview and process independent contract driver candidates to determine eligibility to enroll in the independent contract driver certification program.
• Examine upon receipt Motor Vehicle Records (MVR), Independent Contractor Driver Information Forms (DIF), licenses, certificates, etc. to ensure independent contract drivers/candidates are in compliance with company, customer and government minimum acceptable standards of eligibility.
• Conduct reference checks and nationwide criminal background check of all independent contract drivers/candidates.
• Verify primary residence address, telephone number and emergency contact information of all independent contract drivers/candidates.
• Responsible for the ordering, retrieval and analysis of USIS/DAC reports and other records as may be required; process independent contract driver terminations promptly, accurately and in strict confidence.
• Under the direction of the Manager – Safety & Small Business Programs identifies legal requirements, government reporting regulations and subscription service agreements affecting independent contract driver services and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
• Meet and greet Driver Advisor volunteers and Independent Contract Driver candidates upon return from the Road Test. Interview participants and complete audit of Road Test evaluation. Coordinate contracting phase between driver candidates and Contract Driver Manager/designate.
• Responsible in part for preserving the value of the Independent Contract Driver Certification Program – a “living document”.
• Responsible for the prompt and accurate completion of tasks which may be assigned in support of Risk Management team members including the Contract Driver Manager, Road Supervisors and Auto Claims.
• Responsible in part for mentoring new independent contract drivers to increase contractor customer satisfaction and retention ratings.

customer service skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to handle confidential information is required. Analytical and problem solving skills. (Needs basic mathematical skills and an ability to reconcile driver ledgers.) Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
