Contract Billing Analyst

Position Summary

Battelle's Billing & Receivables department is responsible for turning project costs incurred into client receivables, and receivables into cash payments. It operates under a DCAA-approved billing system, and submits billings on all government prime, commercial contracts, and subcontracts. This department is currently seeking a full-time Contract Billing Analyst at its office in Columbus, Ohio. Compensation will be based on relevant qualifications and experience. A competitive benefits package will be provided. Relocation support is not available.


Position Duties and Responsibilities

o Interpret and analyze contracts to translate contract requirements into billing system calculations, including verification of Battelle Contract input.
o Interface with internal and external clients as needed.
o Calculate vouchers/invoices including loaded labor rates. May include creating and designing invoice formats and detailed spreadsheets to meet clients' needs.
o Analyze cost categories for proper mapping to billing categories.
o Receive and prepare billing backup including subcontract invoice, travel expense reports and receipts, timecards and billing detail.
o Audit contract requirements and financial system and billing system voucher/invoice calculations.
o Prepare letter-of-credit vouchers, associated reports, forms, and drawdown funds.
o Analyze unbilled costs and follow up with project leaders and financial managers.
o Calculate and prepare journal entries for write-ons/offs, balance of fee, indirect cost adjustments and Time and Materials billable costs.
o Prepare write-offs and write-ons for BCO income statement.
o Manage a variety of electronic billing processes for data input and document uploading.
o Obtain appropriate approvals and signatures on documents.
o Expedite and resolve problems in a prompt and efficient manner.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
o May provide training to other staff members.

REQUIREMENTS


Basic Qualifications

o Ability to perform a variety of mathematical calculations; formulas for specific calculations
o Advanced experience with spreadsheets and an understanding of financial software systems.
o Effective oral and written communication skills.
o In-depth knowledge of accounting procedures, terminology and methodology.
o Accuracy and attention to detail and superior ability with numbers is a must.
