Contract Administrator-Defense

Prominent pharmaceutical company seeking an Associate Research Scientist:

Major duties will involve high throughput screening and follow on profiling of compounds that are identified in HIV and HCV screening.

· Execution of high-throughput screening

· Mammalian cell culture

· Transient transfections, plasmid preparation, PCR

· Preparation and handling of BL-2/BL-3 viruses

· Routine handling of small-molecule compounds

· Occasional handling of low-level radioactivity REQUIREMENTS


Requires a BS Degree with 2-3 years experience in a small-molecule drug discovery setting. Industry experience preferred.

· Experience in mammalian cell culture and excellent sterile technique

· Basic molecular biology skills (transfection, plasmid preparation, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, etc.)

· Experience in virology a plus

· Experience in immunological methods (FACS, western blotting, etc.) a plus

· Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask
