Consultant , part-time and/or flexible CFO/Controller

Professional services firm, with offices in Charlotte, the Triad, and the Triangle providing accounting solutions through project-based engagements is seeking project consultants We have successfully created a dynamic environment where committed accounting professionals serve and delight clients while honoring their personal and professional lives. Our Ideal Consultants choose to work flexibly scheduled hours, and must be able to commit to a minimum of 24 hrs per week.

Our Ideal Consultant will serve in roles such as:
(1)assess an accounting department or a specific area of function and provide feedback on how to improve/re-engineer;
(2)close books, reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, analyze accounts or trends, is an expert in Excel;
(3)serve as a part-time and/or interim Controller or CFO (or other similar function);
(4)manage change in an accounting area (example include changes in connection with conversions, acquisitions, or Sarbanes-Oxley legislation etc); SEC experience is a plus;
(5)work with entrepreneurs on business plans, financial forecasting, building infrastructure, etc.

REQUIREMENTS
The Monaghan Group Ideal Consultant:

- Has a CPA license. Ideally has public accounting firm experience (with the Big 4 is a plus) and private industry experience, at a CFO/Controller level in a mid-market company.

- Has 10 – 30 years of experience

- Is an expert in Excel, Accounting Research, and External Reporting

- Has performed, supervised, and managed all general accounting functions of a business. Must have hands-on experience and a desire to "roll up sleeves" and get the job done.

- Understands of variety of accounting software packages.

- Has established or re-engineered controller functions of a business.

- Has experience that demonstrates ability to serve and work with clients to achieve business goals.

- Has experience that demonstrates ability and strength to step back and act as an outside expert and consultant.

- Has experience in bringing order to chaos and implementing changes.
