Consultant - GSMC

Reznick Group, one of the nation's fastest growing public accounting and business advisory services firms, is seeking Associates for their Government Services Management Consulting (GSMC) team located in their Bethesda, MD office. Reznick Group is ranked among the top 20 public accounting firms in the nation, maintains seven offices across the US, and has approximately 900 employees servicing clients nationwide and across multiple industries.
GSMC Associates may report to and receive instruction from Sr. Associates and Managers. The GSMC Associate will work on a variety of consulting engagements in support of our federal clients. Consulting engagements may include audit readiness work, organizational and operational analysis, and general accounting support. The primary responsibilities of the GSMC Associate are focused in the following 3 areas:

Specific DutiesAudit, Accounting & Financial Analysis

Understand the purpose of accounting procedures based on level of service provided.
Understand clients' accounting and financial systems.
Understand current accounting theory. Apply this knowledge to the engagement.
Perform operational and organizational assessments including, but not limited to process mapping, efficiency analysis, control assessments, contract compliance, and financial and accounting systems analysis.
Perform audit, accounting and financial analyses including, but not limited to audit readiness work, activity-based costing (ABC), and cost-benefit analysis.
Perform ad hoc analysis as needed on client engagements.
Prepare work papers that are informative, indexed, cross-referenced and can easily be understood and explained.Project/Task Management

Accept responsibility for, and complete tasks assigned by Reznick Group management in a timely fashion.
Make effective use of firm resources to complete a project.
Manage multiple client projects at any given time.
Alert Reznick Group management in a timely fashion of any issues, constraints, challenges, and/or scheduling conflicts that may arise in completing the assigned task(s).

REQUIREMENTS
Travel Percentage: 10%

BS/BA Accounting or Finance, CPA candidate/eligibility to sit a plus

Minimum of 0-2 years accounting or finance experience; consulting experience to the federal government a plus

Aptitude to perform research, utilizing both primary and secondary research methods

Strong communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills

Proven technical skills with MS Office applications to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; Federal Financial System (FFS) experience a plus!

Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Security Clearance
