Consultant - Financial Portfolio Software Systems

SS&C Technologies, Inc., the worldwide financial services software innovator, currently has an entry-level opening in our Windsor, Connecticut corporate headquarters location. Utilizing your accounting and Windows-based applications background, you will service SS&C clients daily by providing consulting and support of SS&C's financial services software products. Daily activities include:
* Consulting support for installation and training of company software
* Documenting and troubleshooting the client's software issues* Resolving problems and communicating resolutions to the client and all appropriate internal departments
As the primary contact to our customers, you will respond to problems or questions on technical, accounting, or system navigation by researching, troubleshooting, problem solving, and performing portfolio file corrections, delivering files back to the customer when appropriate. Additionally, you will be responsible for training new customers after their conversions have been completed.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications include: some knowledge of fixed income investments and the proper accounting principals applied for amortization, accretion, interest accruals, and gain/loss; must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to multi-task; must be able to work effectively in a team environment; and evidence excellent communication skills essential for effective client interaction. Bilingual spanish-speaking applicants preferred.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience in the same disciplines); intermediate level Excel skills with an understanding of Microsoft Word and Windows-based applications (Windows 2000, Windows XP and/or SQL strongly preferred), a working knowledge of Internet technologies, and a fundamental knowledge of computer operating systems.The desired candidate must have:
