Compliance Auditor - Lakewood - (The Lodge) - (AI32719-2900-CO)
Compliance AuditorExemption: ExemptSummary: This position serves the DaVita Inc. Compliance Department. The primary responsibilities of the Compliance Auditor (“CA”) include performing strategic assessments of compliance issues and risks, monitoring and supporting compliance audit programs, and managing and conducting compliance audits and follow-up reviews. The CA is a member of and supports the Compliance Team in matters related to federal and state laws and regulations, including the areas of billing and reimbursement regulations, health care fraud and abuse concerns, contracting and purchasing monitoring, vendor relationships, applicable reporting requirements and other compliance issues. The CA reports to the Manager of Compliance Monitoring.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Identifies and assesses compliance risks within DaVita Inc.
2. Participates in the planning and periodic review and revision of the Compliance Monitoring Team work plan.
3. Conducts and manages audit and investigation projects and tasks within the Compliance Monitoring Team and performs post-audit and investigation follow-up.
4. Develop and enhance compliance audit tools programs, procedures and standards.
6. Responsible for preparing accurate and timely audit reports and ensuring that audit work papers meet internal auditing standards.
7. Participates, as necessary, in relevant DaVita workgroups and committees, etc. to assess the impact on the Compliance Monitoring Team and also provide Compliance Monitoring Team input and perspective.
8. Assists in development, implementation and modification of compliance-related policies and procedures.
9. Serves as a resource to clinic and corporate teammates regarding the Company’s compliance program.
Recommends and reviews adherence to interdepartmental policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory-required aspects are incorporated into DaVita Inc. operations.
Works with clinicians and IT department to obtain data items necessary for audits and investigations.
Maintains a working knowledge of healthcare regulatory body rules and regulations and industry-specific issues as well as current audit technologies, tools and techniques.
Works with the Compliance Team to provide consistent and uniform responses to inquiries related to compliance.
Other duties as assigned which promote the Compliance Team’s mission and function within DaVita Inc.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related discipline or an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management with 5+ years of industry-specific experience. RHIT/RHIA designation preferred.
2. Required minimum of 3-5 years healthcare compliance and audit experience.
3. Required knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of internal auditing or compliance auditing.
3. Required strong knowledge of laws and regulations imposed on health care systems by various agencies.
4. Required strong oral and written communication skills.
5. Required planning, project facilitation and/or management background.
6. Experience with process improvement/CQI activities preferred.
7. Required experience working with healthcare regulatory bodies.
8. Required ability to manage multiple priorities and develop and implement multidisciplinary programs.
9. Some travel involved.
