Collections Specialists, Experienced

Experienced Collections Professionals needed.The Managed Care Collection Specialist is responsible for complete follow up on third party contracted claims, on non-government accounts up to and including final disposition of the account balances. The individual should be able to correct problems and encourage prompt pay of third party payers. Confirm co-pay and deductible amounts. Individual should be thorough in working accounts and documenting action taken on each account. Ensure that claims are paid correctly according to the reimbursement summary guidelines. Work in coordination to resolve issues with the appropriate department that may delay payment of a claim. The incumbent will adhere to the standards as established by the Managed Care Collections Department. Collector will effectively communicate to management any roadblocks hindering collections.


Requirements:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associates Degree in Business Preferred High School Degree/GED required Experience: Minimum of two-three years of collection experience. Must have overall knowledge of third party billing/collection and/or contract experience required. Third party hospital reimbursement knowledge and federal regulations required. Must have understanding of debits, credits and coordination of benefits. Skills/Other: Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to research and evaluate information. Strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all departments. Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to promote a positive and safe environment through encouragement, Consideration, enthusiasm, respect, humor and tact. Exhibit strong computer skills. Must present a professional appearance and behavior at all times. DIMENSION/SCOPE 1. Follow up on third party contracted claims accurately and timely. 2. Communicate with management any roadblocks hindering collections. 3. Apply clear and concise notes to accounts for future reference purposes. 4. Comprehension of debits, credits, coordination of benefits and explanation of benefits. 5. Prompt interactions with other managed care/contract compliance/reimbursement team members to achieve goals and standards. 6. Maintain Managed Care Collection standards as established by the department. 7. Special projects/other duties as assigned by management. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS Ability to speak, read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations. Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for an extended amount of time.
