JOB SUMMARY:


The Collection Representative monitors and collects routine aged receivables for delinquent accounts from employer groups.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitors and identifies employer group receivables to collect past due premiums. Will document in detail all telephone calls, demand letters and other correspondence made in the effort to collect outstanding balances. Works in conjunction with Accounting Representatives to identify and collect balance forward amounts from the employer group or direct-pay account. Explains and collects balance forwards and audits referred by Accounting Representatives. Works in a team with Marketing and outside brokers to ensure timely payments for large and/or sensitive groups. Posts detailed entries to accounting records, processes routine transactions, and allocates canceled groups. Researches and resolves telephone and written inquiries from canceled groups and/or internal inquires. Calculates and processes payments for assigned employer groups; reviews and resolves errors and discrepancies regarding misapplications of premiums. Contacts employer groups when necessary to resolve questions. Contacts employer groups to resolve issues and collect delinquent premiums and/or balance forward amounts. Resolves balances on assigned delinquent groups.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.



Certification/License:



Experience:
One year experience in account reconciliation, payment allocation, and eligibility maintenance required.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to operate PC-based office software programs. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interact with outside agencies/customers with appropriate business behaviors. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Analytical and problem solving skills.
