Collections Counselor Specialist

Supervise a group of 3rd party vendor’s set up in separate regions and using monthly reports from strategic initiatives group. Ensure minimal loss and exposure through adherence to all regulatory requirements, default corrections and business unit policies and guidelines.
Directly supervises outside repossession and/or skip companies to maximize the output.Monitor agencies and/or other vendors to ensure quality and compliance of accounts. Establishes and maintains adequate records on each repossession and skip agency. Provide feedback to Unit Manager on opportunities to improve department efficiencies and expense reduction. Perform special projects and related duties as assigned. Reviews daily excel spreadsheets to monitor work flow and productions results of outside vendors.
Handles customer complaint calls in regards to the vendors. Prepares and sends out scorecards to each vendor along with making a follow up phone call to discuss that months’ performance. Communicate processes and improvements to the vendor and HSBC staff. Negotiate fees with potential and existing vendors. Complete reports as required.

job Requirements



High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Two years of experience in a vendor management capacity

Proficiency with the use of personal computer and it’s associated software applications

General office equipment and telephones, reading and comprehension, basic math and typing

Excellent verbal and written communication

Ability to prioritize work and maintain general office functions

Ability to negotiate

Able to work independently and as part of a team while promoting good client relations

Possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the more complex activities associated with the responsibilities
