Collateral Risk Analyst III
Independently evaluates all collateral pledged by member institutions, including residential mortgages, multi-family and commercial real estate mortgages, home equity lines of credit, second mortgages, and securities collateral.
Evaluates all collateral pledged to the Bank, including residential mortgage loans, multi-family mortgage loans, commercial real estate loans, home equity lines of credit, second mortgage loans, and securities collateral using the Bank’s format of valuation methodology to estimate asset quality, valuation, and salability, and to ensure compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
Prepares reports for management regarding member institutions with pledged assets in order for management to make collateral-based lending decisions.
Participates in the onsite review of member’s pledged loan collateral, ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures, and performs an assessment of the underwriting, documentation, and administration of said loan collateral. Presents findings and recommendations to management and the Bank’s Credit and Collateral Committee and communicates results to member institutions.
Interacts with member institutions daily regarding the eligibility of various assets as collateral and provides members with basic guidelines and interpretations of the Bank's collateral policies.
Assists management in formulating decisions regarding interpretation of Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
Assists in the development, design, enhancement, and maintenance of financial spreadsheets, models, and form templates to facilitate the analysis and monitoring of the Bank’s collateral.
Assists in the research and preparation of reports on current industry conditions and economic conditions in the Bank’s district and on the secondary mortgage industry for residential, commercial, home equity lines of credit, and second mortgage loans.
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or real estate, a minimum of five years of work experience in a banking/lending environment or the secondary market with specific experience in mortgage banking, commercial real estate underwriting, loan documentation, appraisal review, due diligence, and cash flow analysis and modeling, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Ability to develop financial spreadsheets, models, and form templates is required. A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills are required.
Position will require 30 percent overnight travel.
