Client Accounting Analyst

Business Unit: GE MoneyFunction: FinanceResponsibilities: * Review monthly service invoices for assigned clients to ensure compliance with client program agreements.
Review and track manual journal entries to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Analyze and interpret client program agreements to determine necessary accounting routines, understand financial deal structure and ensure accurate and timely client reporting. Maintain client database, contracts and contract amendments as well as standard accounting policies.
Perform monthly analysis of clients' balance sheet including marketing reserves, income gain sharing and expense and funding accruals.
Perform detailed variance analysis identifying trends, account relationships and accrual to actual comparisons.
Partner with Business Integration implementing and testing new relationships/deals.
Identify and drive implementation of business wide process improvements and controllership initiatives.
Maintain high-level and detailed process maps and accounting matrices for all client accounting processes and client relationships.
Assist in training of new hires and documenting existing standard operating procedures and accounting and system flows.
Train, coach and provide guidance to remote Client Accounting team in India on appropriate accounting practices as it relates to client invoicing and the journal entry process.
Monitor remote Client Accounting team in India using management reporting tools to ensure key client deliverables are being met.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 4 years accounting and/or finance experience.
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and time management skills.
Proven ability to identify and implement projects, accounting policies and process improvement initiatives on aggressive timelines and quantitative analysis.
Advanced PC proficiency with general ledger query tools including spreadsheet, database and other software application skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities in a team oriented environment.
Excellent problem identification and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service.
Previous account reconciliation experience.Desired: * Ability to meet multiple deadlines and juggle dynamic workload while at the same time responding to multiple ad-hoc requests.
Ability to understand technical and contractual accounting issues present in the consumer finance industry and more specifically, with assigned client portfolios.
Ability to resolve accounting and reporting issues that directly impact the client and frequently involve interaction with a variety of functional areas (Systems, Programming, Marketing, etc.)
Ability to assume a firm controllership role while interacting with various client and field personnel.General: Lead monthly review of client invoices and manual journal entries to ensure compliance with current program agreements and internal operational metrics. Perform monthly analysis and review of clients' balance sheet to ensure compliance with GAAP. Work directly with clients, client program managers, and other internal departments to implement, test and lead client accounting contractual requirements and testing discussions on portfolio conversions, new products and start-up project calls. Train, coach and provide guidance to remote Client Accounting group on appropriate accounting practices.
