Claims Rep -Medical

Classification: Temporary Compensation: Pay up to $18 per hour The risk management division of a large grocery chain is in need of two detail-oriented individuasl with any kind of insurance/claims background who can conduct themselves professionally on the phone. For the right individual, this is designed as a temporary-to-permanent position that will pay up to $15/hr on the temp end, but up to $18/hr on the perm-side.
The primary purpose of this position are as follows: to investigate and disposition of medical only worker's compensation claims. To review and approve medical bills and summarize the medical notes in the computer system. The responsibilities of this position include: investigating medical only claims referred by the W.C. Supervisor; determining compensability of medical only claims and sending appropriate state forms; verifying and transferring claims to "Lost- Time"; negotiating and paying scarring awards according to state regulations; determining cases to be litigated and coordinates defense strategy; approving and/or denies medical bills, legal bills and vendor bills and inputting electronic notes into the computer system. Reimbursing employees for out-of-pocket expenses (prescriptions, mileage, etc.).All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States.
