CREDIT OFFICER

Evaluate and validate loan application grading and Risk Criteria evaluation for new loan applicants to provide loan recommendations or decisions for all Commercial Banking Commercial Express credit requests. Recommendations/Decisions will be summarized in abbreviated but effective credit memoranda that accurately represent the credit risks in conjunction with the grading and risk evaluation with exception recommendations supported by well documented rationale.Identify potential problem credits while evaluating new/increase requests. Provide timely referral for development of appropriate remedial management action planStrong ability to analyze financial statements and assess risk;Complete a final credit recommendation/decision within service standards (2 to 3 business days from receipt of a decisional request package).Provide loan approvals that allow for Commercial Express documentation with a minimal amount of tailoring and customer objection. The underwriter is also responsible to facilitate and reconcile credit conditions to ensure booking.;Maintain clear communication with sales and credit staff to a) identify and resolve credit issues; b) manage client expectations, c) establish priorities to ensure service standards are consistently met; and d) find constructive solutions where possible in an effort to approve and close quality transactions.

Ensure compliance with Citibank and regulatory policies to ensure satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors while assisting the business in achieving its risk management and growth goals;
REQUIREMENTS


Minimum college degree required or equivalent work experience (MBA and accounting or finance background a plus);Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial lending;Formal credit training from Citibank or other acceptable financial institution;Strong organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills;Self directed and self motivated team player;Proficient in use of computer programs including Word, Excel, MS Office
