COST ACCOUNTANT
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE AN EXTENSIVE MANUFACTURING
BACKGROUND WITH...
> Budgeting experience
> Inventory Reconciliation experience
> Product Costing experience
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, labor, etc. Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, rate schedules or services provided to determine effects on costs
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Lean – Elimination of waste through the involvement of people.
2. Conduct studies, which will provide detailed information not supplied by general accounting systems.
3. Set up and maintain all bills of material.
4. Update standards for all manufacturing including any new product lines.
5. Assist in the budget and forecasting process.
6. Assist in implementing internal controls in the plant.
7. Analyze costs of production on a monthly basis for each product line.
8. Work closely with supervisors to provide them with analysis assistance on their particular product line.
9. Provide internal cost reporting to supervisors, managers and POC members.
10. Work closely with the service departments to analyze and control allocation of costs to the various product lines.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Other duties as assigned.
2. Participation in continuous improvement programs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Ability to function with minimal supervision also required. Strong communication skills (written and oral) as well as strong computer skills (MS Word, and Excel) preferred.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Mobility in plant.
2. Visual ability with or without correction.
3. Communication abilities.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
2. Follow Company safety rules.
3. Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately.
4. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn:
· Safety shoes
· Safety glasses
· Hearing protection
· Hair restriction as stated in Company policy
· No jewelry as stated in Company policy
5. Report to the Safety Specialist, Cell Supervisor or General Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.
6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
2. Clean, well ventilated and safe work areas.
