CORPORATE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

SUMMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of processing financial statements; general ledger accounting; replacement reserve requests, and assisting property management with issues.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
•Poll sales information from properties for month end financial statements
•Reconcile bank accounts and prepare journal entries for adjustments
•Reconcile A/R & A/P, loans, Intercompany accounts, and other accounts for month end
•General Ledger detail audit and journal entries to correct accounts
•Maintain Accounts Payable accrual schedules
•Intercompany journal entries from vendor invoices
•Preliminary Financial Statement package to Controller for approval & distribution
•Check requests for all Intercompany and Management & Development fees
•Produce month end graphs using financial statement data
•Replacement Reserve requests from lending institutions on a quarterly basis
•Troubleshoot and corrections requested by Property Managers
•Assist in answering phones (back-up)
•Audit Property Manager’s resident files
•Special projects as requested by property & office Senior Management
•Assist in systems selection / upgrades / data management


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Dotted line to Property & Accounting Managers related to general accounting issues
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Good Customer Service and Communication Skills both verbal & written
•Computer Literacy – Accounting Software, Excel, Word, Outlook Express and others
•10-key calculator by touch
•Reliable transportation


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, OR Equivalent
•2 – 4 years experience in Accounting (non-degree) or recent college graduate


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand instructions.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as those used in Accounting.


REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to think logically and objectively.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certifications in related areas a PLUS.
