Position Title: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - CLAIMS ORGANIZATION

Travel Percentage: 10-25%

Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the President of the Claims Organization, the Chief Financial Officer, Claims is responsible for implementing corporate financial policy and plans for the commercial claims division of Zurich North America. Provide overall direction for division accounting, tax, insurance, budget, credit and treasury functions.

Specific responsibilities include the following:
Develop, negotiate and implement claims wide strategic business and service plans, and provide input to strategy.
Optimize allocation of resources and launch common products, projects and investments across the claims organization.
Develop and expand business opportunities and foster long-term customer relationships.
Identify opportunities and risks associated with changes in direction of external environment, looking forward five plus years.
Produce results and achieve profits, either directly or by providing support by developing, implementing and monitoring business/operational plans.
Determine which emerging issues (internal and external) are relevant to Zurich North America's current and future needs and ensure strategies, programs, and processes incorporate such.
Ensure that appropriate documentation, implementation and communication of established policy, procedures and operating standards is completed for the claims organization. Regularly monitor and evaluate activities to identify potential risks and issues of non-compliance. Participate or lead risk assessment for the claims organization, and escalate potential issues to higher management.

Job Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
Extensive background in cost accounting, with eight or more years of related experience.
Extensive experience successfully leading diverse groups of people within a large organization.
Experience within the insurance industry preferable; experience with the claims organization a plus
Strong process orientation coupled with strong project management skills essential.
