Job Description:
We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager in our Structured Finance Federal Tax Service practice. Our Federal Structured Finance Tax practice provides clients with tax guidance and planning related to securitization and other structured products. Our people work on key client issues in the federal taxation of securitization vehicles and tax information reporting for investors. We focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives and industry focus, as well as preparation of tax information reporting for domestic and foreign securitization vehicles. Our practice consists primarily of securitization of Collateralized Debt Obligations (“CDOs”) but we also provide tax consulting and compliance services for REMICs, Mortgage REITs and other securitization vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wants to be able to learn and work in a specialized area of tax. Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations. You will be trained and then responsible for helping to provide technical support to the team and to respond to client inquiries. You will also be responsible for the review of the tax information reporting that is prepared, under the supervision of our seniors, by our professional staff and paraprofessionals
Develop client relationships.Help to develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations.Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field (an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable) a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry CPA certification broad exposure to federal income taxation excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
