Business Unit Manager

Position Summary:
Coordinates all activities associated with the production of turbine components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the activities of 1 salaried personnel and 15-35 hourly personnel.
* Duties include performance reviews, training and coaching, and direct supervision.
* Develops effective and achievable plans.
* Establishes realistic project goals and milestones.
* Demonstrates judgment and flexibility when adjustments are necessary.
* Builds customer confidence by listening to customer needs and concerns and addressing them with diligence.
* Supervise operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures and ensures smooth production operation during shift.
* Responsible for Unit scheduling including work station assignments/rotations, daily work schedules, vacations, breaks, overtime, back-up plans and shift rotations.
* Works with the second shift manager to ensure continuity during the off shift.
* Administers company quality policy, directing the availability of parts, materials and manpower to meet production schedules.
* Manage support activities for cell such as customer service, sales, engineering, quality, maintenance and safety.
* Responsible for meeting shift production goals.
* Track cell performance and report to operations staff weekly.
* Support, champion, and drive Continuous Improvement within the Unit.
* Directs and/or assists in the performance of tasks when needed, i.e. unusual problems or questions, explaining procedures to new employees, and various production duties
REQUIREMENTS
Required Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or Business related field, or equivalent experience in manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery.
* Three to four years prior supervisory/management experience preferred.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with CNC machining.
* Communicates well in English, both written and oral form.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office.
