Business Systems Analyst - Accounts Payable

The SAP AP Business Systems Analyst (BSA) ensures an
effective and efficient systems/process operating environment. The BSA is responsible for leading research and analysis efforts to identify business requirements, and translate them into effective systems design in such a way that they may be effectively modeled and configured within the ERP suite of products. The BSA solves complex issues that arise with system operations and supports the development of enhancements or new releases. The BSA will utilize business and systems expertise to identify new or improved business processes, and evaluates them for adoption into the ERP environment, often providing ongoing consultative services to both business & ES partners.

Researches, designs, creates, documents, implements, maintains and supports systems relating to our ERP suite of software products.
Provides business systems analysis and process redesign expertise within the business areas, analysis and redesign of ERP functions and processes.
Interacts with business partners to identify project alternatives and makes recommendations. Clearly defines and documents business requirements.
Participates in and/or drives the design and development of technology solutions which meet security, network, infrastructure/operations, and customer support requirements.
Provides significant input to system specifications and design.
Configures ERP software to satisfy business requirements and process design.
Quickly understands the business issues, data challenges and
improvement opportunities of Grainger's processes or systems.
Promotes solution-oriented thinking to foster process-centric
environment at Grainger.
Participates and/or coordinates required testing/validation of system fixes. May include creating the actual test cases.
Performs problem determination and resolution within their area of knowledge.
Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner; escalates and retains ownership of all open/unresolved issues.
Participates in system emergency or crisis situations to define/implement workaround processes, corrective action,
communication, and system clean up activities.
Ensures the use of standard capabilities available in SAP and other software packages and minimizes custom development.
Documents business needs and gaps in the system environment.
Creates functional specifications for the software application/development team.
Applies project standards with all areas to ensure a smooth efficient process, and communicates status and issues to management on a timely basis.

REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor degree in Business Area or IS.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability
to communicate to various levels of management to clarify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
Continually seeks opportunities to increase process/system
efficiencies, customer satisfaction and overall business improvement
Strong system knowledge of SAP
SAP Business Analyst should have 3 to 5 years experience with SAP Accounts Payable.
Strong familiarity with EDI transactions, workflow, invoice verification and AP system functionality. A working knowledge of 3rd party remittance processing is extremely beneficial.
Ability to work on cross-functional teams.
Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies,
and environments.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong PC experience required.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Must be proactive and able to work with little or no
supervision.
