Business Intelligence / Financial Analyst

A dynamic, growing, privately-held food distribution organization has an immediate opening in its Corporate Finance Group focusing on operations for an ambitious technically-skilled programmer analyst to implement an extensive application of Business Intelligence tools. The company is seeking math, statistics, finance, computer science and/ or engineering graduates who can quickly grasp and learn to program applications of our Business Intelligence support applications using MDX, Panorama, Microsoft Analysis Services and SQL.
The broad application of these Business Intelligence processes in our industry using these kinds of tools is just beginning. As such, the base of existing applicants already possessing skills in this area is limited and FSA is willing to provide targeted training for the chosen applicant on the use of these tools. It is therefore important that the applicant be able to demonstrate a proven ability to learn quickly (e.g. a high GPA, a bachelor or graduate degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, finance or physics) and drive and ambition to grow their career with a stable growing company.
Achieving the most value from these tools over a broad range of possible applications requires:Identifying the existence of potential applications in distribution operationsDefining the requirements of each application identified,Working with the FSA IT team to specify the data infrastructure requiredTesting and validating the data structures and data flow when developedProgramming and testing the final presentation of the data viewsTraining both skilled and unskilled users on the use of the tools once developed
The development of these tools in a complex business environment requires a high level of communication between various departments, sub-departments, and end-users. It is therefore critically-important that the applicant have superior interpersonal communication skills in all media. Initiating and driving these projects through a complex organization with competition for resources and heavy demand for IT projects will require a high degree of initiative, collaboration, and motivation in the successful applicant.


Requirements:

Technical Skills:Experience with SQL, MDX, Panorama and/or Microsoft Analysis Services preferred.
The power of these Business Application tools will be spreading very quickly across a broad range of industries and the skills developed in this position will be in very high demand. Recognizing this, company will be offering a very competitive compensation package to the successful applicant.
