Business Analyst II

To add to our team of talented people, we are currently seeking a Business Analyst II within our Accounting Department.

The responsibilities of this role include:

Plan and coordinate activities for areas of responsibility to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Specifically, duties include (but are not limited to):

Develop proficiency with Windows and Microsoft office products.
Develop proficiency with Oracle applications & databases and reporting tools; i.e., Toad, Discoverer, etc.
Be self motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
Effective requirements gathering and documenting to ensure an accurate/effective end product. Effective design, development, and testing of simple and complex reports. Effective time management to ensure production of accurate and timely business queries and reports. Various special projects and analysis, as assigned.
Support accounting management and staff in completing special accounting projects including assisting other accounting functions as necessary, developing reports for researching various accounting transactions, documenting processes, and in drafting procedures.
Be active in appropriate business and civic organizations.
Actively support the effort to make the EchoStar Accounting Department a truly customer-driven organization by promoting, facilitating and providing superior customer service at all times to both internal and external customers.
Must be able to prepare formal documents to be presented to both internal and external users.

job Requirements


Minimum qualifications to be considered are:

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of related accounting experience.
At least 3-5 years of related Oracle Applications experience
At least 1-2 years of SQL+ experience with Oracle Applications 10.7, R11, 11i (PL-SQL experience a plus)
Knowledge of Oracle Discoverer, TOAD, and/or other Oracle query/report tools
Intermediate knowledge of various techniques using Visual Basic ADO, HTML, and ODBC.
Intermediate to Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Access and/or SQL Server a plus.
Effective analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to implement efficiency improvement within area of responsibility. Facilitate timely and accurate reports/queries for account reconciliations. Ability to work with limited supervision. Thorough research and documentation on special projects, as appropriate.

In addition, we will give preference to candidates with the following:

Intermediate knowledge of Hyperion/Brio/Vantage a plus.
