Bookkeeper - tax preparer

Our office is friendly and enjoys very little turnover. However, the work comes first.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be a self starter and a team worker who enjoys the pressures of tax and accounting deadlines. They will be experienced in data entry and will be able to prepare period end adjusting entries. We utilize work papers for supporting our accounting entries and the candidate is required to be neat and have good document organizing skills. They will be expected to speak and write “clear and understandable English” and have good communication and telephone skills.

Responsibilities include preparation of monthly financial statements (including period end adjusting entries), preparation of sales taxes, payroll taxes and individual tax returns. Experience preparing corporate, partnership and trust tax returns is a plus.

The candidate will be proficient using MAS 90 and QuickBooks accounting software, as well as Microsoft word and Excel and Lacerte tax software. Must be able to use the ten key adding machine or ten key keyboard by “touch”.
