Bookkeeper / Full-Charge Accountant

Sun Pacific is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join its accounting team. Primary responsibilities include management of the Company’s Vegetable Division books, ensuring accurate and timely accounting entries, efficiently managing the Divisions’ accounts payable process, providing detailed reporting and analysis to senior management, and partnering with the Farm Manager to provide a farming budget for review and approval.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the agriculture industry, and a proven track record of partnering with divisional management and providing them with the financial tools & reports for effective decision-making.

Pay:$15.00 - $20.00 / Hr, commensurate with experience

Accounting
1.Reconcile cash receipts including cash journal entries & bank deposits
2.Prepare recurring monthly journal entries including, but not limited to, for depreciation, equipment, amortization, office and HR allocations, TransWestern Health & Pinnacle Health accruals, pre-paid write-offs, labor allocation entries, harvesting income
3.Prepare annual journal entries, including but not limited to, for employee pension payments, partnership statement of account balances, amortization, rent
4.Prepare general ledger opening balances for each growing season
5.Maintain accurate enterprise account tables
6.Plant and seed entries and analysis

Accounts Payable
1.Sort invoices weekly, matching invoices to receivers and purchase orders on file. Research missing receivers or purchase orders.
2.Reconcile vendor statements received, paid and due.
3.Ensure all invoices reviewed with and approved for payment by the Farm Manager.
4.Ensure A/P clerk has all required instructions to process in a timely manner, including GL coding, description of service and amounts outstanding to be paid.

Reporting & Analysis
1.Ensure Vegetable Division books close accurately on time each month
2.Review monthly close with Farm Manager, providing to senior management analysis and budget variance of season to date expenses and projection of end of season expenses.
3.Partnering with the Farm Manager, deliver to senior management each season a detailed farming expense budget for review and approval.

-Strong accounting skills, including budget process and accounts payable process
-Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
-Excellent MS Excel skills
