Billing Director

BIlling DIRECTOR

Under the supervision of the HCS Group Sr. Vice President of Finance, this position is responsible for all billing operations for the health centers and outside offices in Western New York, Rochester, and Central New York.

Responsible for all Health Center billing includes insurance verification, timely billing submission, cash receipts/posting, and accounts receivable management functions to ensure operational control and efficiency in meeting or exceeding established corporate metrics, especially total AR, days revenue in AR, and write-offs.

Maintains knowledge to ensure departmental practices are compliant with corporate, government and third party insurance policies and regulations.

Develops and maintains Billing Department compliance program that is accepted by the Excellus Compliance Committee. Directs audit procedures in Compliance Program to assess provider compliance with various payor coding rules. Presents audit results to providers and recommendations corrective action.

Responsible for creating and organizing regular provider in-service educational seminars focused on payor compliance and revenue-maximization opportunities.

Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of the organization’s billing and accounts receivable management system (NextGen) to maximize software functionality and utility.

Acts as the project lead for billing system implementations and upgrades.


Directs contracting effort with third-party payors to ensure adequate and equitable reimbursement.

Utilizes billing and reimbursement expertise to participate in the identification, analysis, and implementation of new business opportunities (i.e. – MSO).

Interviews, selects, trains, motivates, evaluates, and counsels Billing Department personnel.

Maintains knowledge of all relevant legislative and regulatory mandates and ensures that all activities are in compliance with these requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications

? Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
? Minimum of 8-10 years health care experience with 5 years supervisory/managerial experience
? Comprehensive understanding of medical office/facility billing regulations including Medicare/Medicaid
? Proven aptitude in assessing billing operations and enacting efficiencies and measuring results
