Billing Audit Accountant

Purpose: The Billing Audit Accountant will be responsible for assisting in getting the audit function started with in the Billing Department. This position will require a high level of creativity, good accounting knowledge and must have billing knowledge. The candidate will be responsible for tracking attorney and partner billable activity to make sure we are with in firm compliance and legal compliance. This is a new position and will have firm wide billing audit initiative responsibilities. Some travel may be required after the first year (5%-10%) .


Required Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting or Business Administration, etc. and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in billing or customer service in a global-multi office law firm, accounting firm or other professional services organization. Also in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, the candidate should have 6-8 years of billing audit experience to be considered.
Experience Requirements:
The Billing Audit Accountant will need to be a good communicator both verbally, and written to effectively interact with senior management and attorneys. This role will not require the person to process bills. It is an analytical position which requires analysis, strategy, patience, and persuasiveness.
