As a result of the July 2000 reaffiliation with Scripps Clinic, Scripps now has approximately 10,000 employees and also cares for patients at 12 Scripps Clinic locations throughout San Diego County.Division: Scripps ClinicsDepartment: BUSINESS SERVICESJob Type: Full-TimeShift Type: DaysShift Hours: 8 Hr ShiftPosition Profile: Proactively assesses diagnostic and procedural coding for accuracy and optimal reimbursement. Maintains complete knowledge of coding and claims submission requirements as relates to Government, Managed Care and commercial plans. Works in tandem with compliance and physicians in updating coding practices relative to the assigned specialty practices relative to the assigned specialty practices. Assists in physician coding education, disseminates changes in coding policies and requirements, reviews medical record documentation relating to coding and informs physicians of deficiencies noted. Participates in physician and biller/coder meetings. Reviews and updates charge documents on a continuous basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Ensures billing edit reports are resolved while identifying and eliminating problem trends. Prevents missing charges from escalating. Keys all claims in an accurate and timely manner. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: CPC preferred but not required. Mininum 1 year coding or insurance processor experience required. Multi specialty experience a plus, demonstrated knowledge of CPT, ICD9 AND HCPC coding. Demonstrated understanding of coding concepts.
