Audit Letters Analyst

This full-time position in the Loss Prevention Department involves the preparation of responses to audit inquiry letters from clients, including entering, tracking, and assigning letters; retrieving and maintaining all relevant historical information; surveying and compiling responses from attorneys; telephone conferences with auditors and/or clients; research in the Firm’s financial and conflicts databases; frequent research using the Internet; and synthesizing, distilling and compiling all these disparate bits of information and/or disclosures from attorneys and various other sources into a comprehensive final response. The position also serves as a backup on IRS Reportable Transactions, surveying tax and corporate attorneys to report on possible IRS Reportable Transactions, assembling reports and tracking all reportable data. The position is also involved in the Opinion Letter and ARDC processes. The position occasionally interacts with the Database Integrity staff on internal database maintenance and cleanup projects connected with the Firm’s Conflict of Interest database. Other administrative duties as assigned. This position may require a considerable amount of overtime during the months of January through April.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure and to work well with the other members of the audit letter staff. Qualified candidates will have excellent organizational and communication skills, a customer service orientation, ability to work independently, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and proficiency with Word, Microsoft Access and the Internet. A college degree and 3+ years of experience preferred. This position reports to the Loss Prevention Compliance Manager and works directly with the Loss Prevention Compliance Specialist. The Loss Prevention Department will train the right candidate.
