Asst Tax Manager

The Assistant Tax Manager is responsible for the analysis and review of
accounting activity to determine proper tax treatment for FAS 109 and tax return
filings. Research and respond to ad hoc questions from internal customers.
Assist with federal audits and lead certain state audits. Interact with
external providers with on-going projects and tax return preparation and review.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Calculation of estimated payments and preparation of related state vouchers.
Analysis of general ledger accounts and preparation of tax adjustments for
corporate, state, local
income and franchise tax returns, interaction with external provider to prepare
tax returns (Federal, State, Forms 5472, Forms 5471)
Assistance in the preparation of Quarterly Income Tax Provision (FAS 109) and
income tax audits
Ad Hoc research questions and participation in on-going tax projects
Interaction with A/P and Purchasing on Sales and Use Tax Questions
Respond to state and IRS notices and maintain tax calendar for income and
franchise taxEducation Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Education Preferred
Master of Taxation
Experience Required:
Minimum of five to seven years in Public Accounting or six to seven Years of
Private Industry ExperiencePOSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of Federal and multi-state income tax concepts
Working knowledge of Oracle and Tax research Software a Plus
Strong analytical, organizational & interpersonal skills
Demonstrates strong working knowledge of sales and use tax concepts
Demonstrates an understanding of general accounting concepts
Ability to communicate effectively with non-tax personal to obtain
information required for tax analysis
Maintains strict confidentiality
Demonstrates ability to speak effectively in any settings such as large
audiences or one on one
Uses well-organized, timely and effective oral and written communication
skills
Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities
Takes initiative and acts without waiting for direction ? Raises and/or confronts issues limiting team effectiveness
