We are seeking an Associate Director/Director for our Financial Institutions team. Specifically, the position will involve full responsibility for a portfolio of US finance companies. The portfolio will include a heavy emphasis on stand alone and captive commercial finance entities and business development companies (BDCs) along with some consumer finance oriented firms. Responsibilities related to the direct coverage of companies will include gathering and analyzing financial information, meeting with management teams of the companies followed, presenting comprehensive credit recommendations to Fitch's rating committee and publishing a regular flow of company research reports. In addition, the position allows for the opportunity to provide direction and input into industry research products and studies.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to assessing the qualitative and quantitative factors that drive the creditworthiness of finance companies. Experience should include presenting credit conclusions to third parties through written research. Candidates will be expected to possess well developed analytical skills in the area of credit and strong oral and written communication skills. The ability and comfort in working in an environment that blends a combination of individual and team exercises is essential. Candidates will be expected to perform in an environment that consistently requires proper prioritization be applied to multiple projects and tasks.
