Associate Controller

Provide the direction and management necessary for accurate and timely preparation of University and Consolidated Financial Statements, tax filings, reports and surveys. Implement internal control policies and procedures of the University and prepare internal cost analysis for management analysis and control. Also provide oversight in cost analysis and financial compliance for federal and other sponsored agreements.

Provide functional direction in the operations of the Financial Reporting, Grant Accounting and the Cost Analysis and Financial Compliance departments. This includes, staffing departments with competent personnel; assessing staff needs; select and promote staff in accordance with appropriate personnel practices and University Affirmative Action Programs; establish standards of performance, and evaluate staff against those standards. Performs other duties as assigned.


BS in Accounting/Finance or related field. Eight to ten years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Must demonstrate advanced level of working knowledge of personal computers and applicable software for the preparation of reports.
*Requires excellent management, technical and organizational skills.  

Preferred:
*Advanced degree and/or certification (CPA, MBA).
