Associate

The daily management balance sheet group assist product controllers in managing their respective balance sheet targets. The balance sheet targets are assigned by the finance committee to ensure that the firm is operating at the appropriate gross and net leverage ratios. The daily management balance group prepares balance sheets for each domestic business and consolidates the London and Asia balance sheets.
In addition, the group will be responsible for creating regular balance sheet analytics that will be central in managing and optimizing the efficient deployment of balance sheet capacity.

*Primary responsibility involves daily assembly of business-line balance sheets
*Weekly, monthly, and quarterly analysis of balance sheet composition
*Involves daily interaction with product controllers (domestic and foreign) to resolve issues
*Reconciliation of the month-end management balance sheet to the general ledger
*Involvement in the implementation of an automated system (GFS) used to produce the daily management balance sheet
*Assist in the capital markets balance sheet planning and analysis.
REQUIREMENTS

*Exposure to (GAAP) rules pertaining to on/off balance sheet treatments.
*Understanding of balance sheet FASB'S.

Requirements

*Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred or equivalent experience
*Knowledge of financial products a plus
*Knowledge of Broker Dealer balance sheets a plus
*Four years industry experience or public accounting
*Proactive with respect to following on-going issues and problem-solving
*Strong organizational and analytical skills
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to work under pressure
*Excellent Excel skills (Visual Basic a plus)
