Learn, perform and assume designated responsibilities of the Mutual Funds Accounting Manager.Manage day-to-day workflow and supervise a team of specialists. Ensures all assigned responsibilities are performed in an efficient manner and meet established standards on a day-to-day and longer-term basis. Act as a working supervisor in addressing complex issues and assuming workload periods of peak volume. Train new specialists. Responsible for goal-setting, performance evaluations and implementation of employee development plans.
Oversee the coordination of the annual report preparation, prospectus and other regulatory filings. Provide quality control review. Develop effective relationships with external vendors such as auditors, and external counsel and printers in order to facilitate projects.
Develop procedures and policies in response to industry guidance and regulatory requirements and communicates with staff to ensure compliance. Continue to develop industry and technical expertise.
Supervise the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, Board of Trustee materials, budgets, accrual rates, and marketing materials.
Coordinate aspects of relationship with external mutual fund accounting agent.
Participate in other projects as requested by management.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum 5 years accounting experience in the mutual fund, financial services industry or public accounting preferred.
Provide direction to build strong team environment.
Motivated individual displaying consistently high attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
Delivers clear effective verbal and written communication.
