Assistant Manager/ Manager Contracts and Proposals ROWThe selected candidate will be responsible for Managing, coordinating and preparing key and non-key cost proposals for new business opportunities as required. Additionally they will clarify proposal specifications with the client, Account Executive, or sponsoring ROW region, to ensure that the cost proposal meets the client’s requirements. The individual will be accountable for Managing, coordinating and preparing letters of intent and contracts for awarded projects and finalise within agreed timelines as required. Manage, coordinate and prepare change orders for existing business when necessary. Clarify change order specifications with the Project Manager and the client. In this role, the selected applicant will ensure that proposal submission timelines are consistently met and that Business Development SOPs and Working Procedures are being adhered to, as well as, to ensure ROW management and operations groups are apprised of the status of proposal preparation. The qualified candidate will ensure ROW management and operations groups are apprised of the status of contracts and change orders. They will ensure ROW management and operations groups are apprised of information affecting the efficient managing of ROW regions. The individual will provide information and support to ROW Senior Management in the presentation of Client Services activities to ICON Senior Management and Business Development groups in other regions. Represent the Proposals and Contracts Department at Client meetings by defending and negotiating cost proposals, contracts and change orders where necessary. Provide support to Business Development Associates, as necessary, by interacting with operational departments to provide timely and accurate input into the cost proposal, change order or contract. Responsibilities will also include providing comprehensive review of proposals, letters of intent, contracts and change orders prior to submission to client to ensure consistency with RFP requirements, with input from operations and between costing and specifications. Assist the Manager of Proposal and Contracts to develop and/or improve training modules and educational materials for Business Development Associates. Clarify proposal specifications with the client, Account Executive, or sponsoring ROW region, to ensure that the cost proposal meets the client’s requirements. Contribute to the development and/or improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Working Procedures and Job Descriptions for Business Development. Contribute to the development of processes and tools to improve the accuracy and quality of proposals, contracts and change orders and to improve the efficiency of the process.The qualified candidate must possess a university degree in science / biomedical area or equivalent with a minimum of three years experience in Pharmaceutical / CRO industry. Experience in the preparation of proposals or contracts and/or relevant related experience/qualifications. A thorough understanding of CRO cost drivers and costing algorithms as well as excellent communication and organizational skills are required. Must be a self-starter and able to function in a high-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office package is a must. The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines is necessary.
