Assistant Director of Finance
The Assistant Director of Finance will be responsible for assisting the Director of Finance with the supervision of the department and ensuring financial reporting requirements are completed in accordance with Hilton's standards of quality and performance. The responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Assisting the Director of Finance with the management and leadership of the department including team relations, meetings, supplies, disciplinary action, and special projects.
Ensure team members are motivated and trained to adequately perform at the expected level.
Prepare budget and maintain controls on spending to ensure budgetary limits are met; coordinate and review monthly financial statements for accuracy.
Prepare Annual Depreciation schedules for furniture, equipment, building supplies, revisions and alterations.
Review and approve all balance sheet account reconciliations to include: bank statements, assets, liabilities and credit cards.
Monitor coding of cash receipts.
Assist Director of Finance with internal daily audits of cash deposits, transfers and the preparation/monitoring of Capital Budget.
Prepare financial reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
Monitor records of inventory to control accuracy of supply distribution.
Ensure corporate compliance with all billing and credit standards.
Audit, monitor, approve and prepare daily payroll accounts and supervise issuance of all paychecks.
Assist with the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Assist the finance Department in any other administrative duties as needed.
Perform other special projects as assigned by the General Manager, Director of Finance and Corporate Finance.
REQUIREMENTS
A combination of experience/education equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
Two 2 years supervisory experience in a luxury hotel accounting department.
Financial aptitude and ability to analyze large volumes of complex financial information from many sources and create reports and forecast projections.
Knowledge of GAAP and basic internal control processes.
Knowledge of various computer programs including advanced Excel spreadsheet skills and the manual dexterity to operate all office machines.
Experience preparing month end journal entries, month end close, balance sheet reconciliation's and general ledger account analysis.
Experience supervising food and beverage controls and cost calculations, and assisting with forecasting and budgeting process
Ability to effectively deal with guest and team members concerns in a friendly and positive manner, listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer/team member and providing positive and proactive solutions.
Knowledge of OnQ and PeopleSoft a plus.
