Job Description:
The Assistant Director Project/Process leads and coordinates medium to large-scale technology projects during pre-production, development, implementation, and deployment phases. This professional teams with both client technology management and our Information & Technology Services (I&TS) application developers, Technical Support Services (TSS) management, and support staff to understand project requirements and timeframes, manage major deployment efforts of software and hardware technology solutions, and report on the status of the managed group and active projects.Responsibilities
Manage the continual upgrading of procedures and equipment to maintain currency with technological progress, economic change, and business needs.Manage the training and development of staff members to develop their skills and maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in their area of responsibility.Prepare the annual budget and manage expenditures in order to operate within approved budget guidelines.Directly and indirectly supervise staff members in the development, implementation, and support of applications to meet the client's business requirements.Recommend the selection of and be responsible for the performance management of staff members.Utilize deployment management methodologies for solution delivery to the customer; develop and manage I&TS technology project(s) requirements; and manage own work schedule to ensure that ongoing and mission-critical deliverables are met.Facilitate the problem resolution and escalation process so that project schedules and methodologies are not adversely impacted.Meet regularly with technology management at all levels to coordinate activities among groups, and to ensure project success.Identify, develop, and document Project Lifecycle phases, events, milestones, and tasks for each project and project group.Ensure adherence to appropriate deployment methodology for all technology deployment projects.Implement solutions in conformance to Statement of Work (SOW), and ensure that supporting Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are in accordance with ongoing customer support requirements.Work with the National Help Desk and other support organizations to ensure accurate and useful communications are delivered as required.Meet regularly with, and advise/collaborate with client business area representatives on technology solutions and programs.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: The incumbent of this position must have:Education:
a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
advanced training in multiple technology areasExperience:
approximately 8-10 years of experience in project management, telecommunications, and/or technology deploymentSkills:
excellent management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
sound research and analytical skills
the ability to work and team effectively with clients and other management personnel
proficiency in MS Office Suite and Lotus Notes applications, and MS Project 95/98
