Manage and direct all aspects of the statutory accounting and reporting processes, including but not limited to the following:
oManage staff of up to 10 in the Accounting & Reporting COE department
oManage a third party administrator who provides significant services to support statutory reporting
oDirect activities to complete statutory quarterly, annual statements, and audited financial statements for the Companies 13+ Life insurance entities to meet regulatory filing requirements
oManage and direct the completion of statutory analysis, STAT to GAAP reconciliations and MD&A including preparing presentations and documentation to be reviewed with Controllers, CFOs and other finance leaders
Direct activities to support of state financial examinations and inquiries, and internal and external audits
Manage the departments relationship with its internal and external auditors
Promote identification and implementation of process improvements
Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service
Support Genworth’s capital management, capital markets efforts, and business development initiatives
Work on special projects as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Accounting
10+ years of accounting and analysis experience, including big 4 public accounting experience
Knowledge of insurance industry and insurance reporting
8+ years leadership experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work effectively within time constraints independently; must be flexible
Self starter and possess a great organizational skills
Ability to multi task
Quality and process improvement mindset
CPA and/or MBA
Oracle / OFA knowledge
Ability to understand various software packages
