Assistant Controller/Controller – Private Equity

Assistant Controller/Controller – Private Equity Drum Capital Management, LLC is a wholly owned discretionary asset management firm, specializing in private equity partnership investing. This small and energetic investment firm is comprised of a team of experienced private equity specialists who manage distressed and turn around investment funds. The team is comprised of leading industry experts that have collectively invested several billions of dollars in private equity investments globally. As an experienced provider of sector focused private equity solutions, and as a Registered Investment Advisor, Drum Capital currently works with some of the largest institutional investors in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Drum Capital, due to our success, is currently looking to augment our accounting and reporting functions for our private equity fund-of-funds business.
Principal Responsibilities: This professional will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, financial statements and the maintenance of books and records for several Private Equity Funds. Experience within Partnership and K1 reporting is required. * Ensure compliance with the Fund’s Partnership agreement. * Coordinate all reporting and communications to Limited Partners. * Plan and execute the year end audit for all funds. * Participate in monitoring all investments and analyze the related performance. * Manage the funding requirements and banking relationships for the Funds. * Assist the CEO and Partners with special projects and presentations.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements: * Professional written and oral communication skills. * Ability to interpret and apply analysis to complex legal documents and financial transactions. * Ability to take ownership of work product and deliver within tight deadlines. * Interact directly with CEO and Partners with external service providers. * Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information. Education / Experience: * Five to seven years experience in a private equity and public accounting (audit). * Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA / MS Finance, a plus. * CPA & public accounting a plus, preferable "Big 4" accounting experience * Working knowledge of US partnership tax accounting / laws. * Having worked for various general partners or fund-of-funds a big plus. * Familiar with investment due diligence, investment committees
This position is expected to grow into the firm’s Controller in a short period of time. Additionally, all candidates should be entrepreneurial in spirit with a desire to assist in all areas of a new business. Able to work independently and dedicated to meeting objectives/timelines and manage numerous third party relationships.
