Assistant Controller

Accountability:
Primarily responsible for year end reporting and GAAP compliance, both domestic and international. Also responsible for acquisition accounting and continuous process improvement.

Direct Reports: 3-5
Departmental Indirect Reports: 0
Other: Frequent interaction with Kerry Group and external auditors.

Essential Functions and Duties:
1. Consolidates year-end financial statements including oversight of preparation of statutory accounts (Hyperion), preparation of US financial statements, and reconciliation of domestic and international GAAP.

2. Establish and maintain internal controls. Works with others in the department and internal audit to develop and implement best practices regarding policies and procedures.

3. Maintains the structure of the financial reporting tool (Hyperion) and assists in reviewing/updating nominal chart of accounts (IFM).

4. Provides monthly and yearly analysis of specified accounts/activities reporting to internal (Americas) and external (Head Office) level.

5. Assists in developing and publishing projection budget and five year plans.

6. Liase with external auditors. Responsible for audit planning, maintaining the audit file, and interfacing with auditors.

7. Supports acquisition activities by performing due diligence as needed, reporting on completion accounts, calculating goodwill, and documenting and reporting on other acquisition accounting activities.

8. Provides training to accounting staff on an as-needed basis.

9. Supervisory responsibilities overseeing management of cash application process and people.

10. Focus on continuous process improvement, automation, and implementation of "Best Practices."
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

â?¢ Four year degree in accounting/finance is required
â?¢ Five or more years accounting experience
â?¢ CPA or equivalent is preferred
â?¢ Ability to travel internationally
â?¢ Accounting knowledge must include the ability to read financial statements including a working knowledge of GAAP
â?¢ Profiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
â?¢ Experience with Hyperion and ERP systems such as AS400, MAPICS, etc.
â?¢ Experience in a manufacturing environment
â?¢ Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization - domestic and international
â?¢ Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
â?¢ Demonstrated problem solving skills
