Hilton Hotels Corporation is seeking an Analyst in our World Headquarters to prepare analyses of Hilton HHonors key metrics, promotions, offers and initiatives, and compile data in support of HHonors, brands, hotels and senior officers. Responsibilities include:Researching, developing and completing marketing and financial models and analysisPulling data and running ad hoc reports for various requestorsResponding to ad hoc requests for counts, analyses, modeling, research, etc. Compiling and analyzing data by using various analytical tools. This includes writing queries, reshaping data using SQL, Cognos, Excel, etc., and reporting findingsPerforming pro forma & post-promotion analyses of HHonors promotions, offers and initiatives. This entails data extraction from promotion tables, working closely with marketing managers to determine metrics to analyze, and reporting and presenting the analysesPreparing monthly reports of HHonors key metricsPulling data to populate, verify, and produce templated reports Additional duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience in work and/or school projects related to economics, statistics, mathematics, or computer programming. Requirements include: Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively work with a variety of audiences, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacyProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, including the ability to type quickly and accurately, create and manipulate spreadsheets, and create PowerPoint presentationsKnowledge of or willingness to learn how to use on-line news retrieval servicesStrong proofreading skillsFlexibility, strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and a “can-do” attitude are criticalDetail-oriented, ability to think critically and analytically, and work independentlyStrong quantitative backgroundProficiency in Word, Excel, and Access and working knowledge of VBA and statistical software such as Cognos, Stata, SAS, and SPSS preferredExperience developing SQL queries also preferred Four year college degree required, with degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, or computer programming a plus. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree will not be considered Occasional travel (once or twice a year) may be required
