Analyst III

Downtown Houston oil and gas company seeks someone who will be responsible for conducting analysis projects and studies. Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May report to an executive or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The list of known activities for the Shell Lubricants Global Product Catalogue project in the area of Packaging Technology include:
> Reviewing the Shell Lubricants and Car Care Stock-Keeping Unit (SKU) portfolios for inaccuracies in packaging component data.-Correcting data inaccuracies on review-Seeking out correct packaging information for incomplete data> Creating pack codes to identify each SKU in terms of the following attributes:-Pack name-Pack form and style-Pack finish (color)-Pack size-Packs per unit of sale> Assigning pack codes at the individual SKU level to identify the combination of attributes embodied by the SKU.> Creating a list of unique packaging components that represents the entire SKU portfolio for the Shell Lubricants and Car Care business> Submitting the pack codes and packaging components on a two-weekly basis that cover 25% of the portfolio every two weeks

REQUIREMENTS
Skills Required:> Basic data manipulation skills in Excel and Access databases e.g. cross-referencing (Vlookup), cutting and pasting, data pivoting, sorting, filtering, parsing, etc.> Strong attention to detail and comfortable handling extensive data spreadsheets.> Good communication and relationship skills.> Strong problem-solving/solution-orientation.
